Bring Your A Game

Lauren's 1st grade class had to do a book report and dress a pumpkin like someone from the story. Lauren's is the mummy above, and he is pretty cute, but as you can see from some of the above pictures some parents may not have even let their kid touch the pumpkin, let alone do the project themselves. If you don't have school age children, you will come to find that you will be very proud of your child's project until you go to Back to School night and see the projects that look like someone's parent works at Disney in the art department, and all your illusions will be shattered.

Class Party

I worked in Lauren's class for their Halloween party, we had lots of fun, decorating cookies and making crafts.

Sour Worms

Last year Hunter came over to bake a Halloween dirt cake. While we were trying to take a picture of the kids with the cake, he grabbed a sour gummy worm off the cake and as you can see, he is not into sour worms.

City Slickers on the Farm

This is the biggest pig ever, I had no idea pigs got this big, Farmer Jay said she is about 700 pounds. Gentle Barn: Lauren's Girl Scout Troop went on a field trip to the Gentle Barn, which is an animal rescue, up Sierra Highway. An older Girl Scout is going for her Gold Award, which is the same as an Eagle Scout, for Boy Scouts. Her service project is planting trees at the Gentle Barn, which lost a lot of it's trees in the fires last year. Lauren's troop bought a tree and help plant it, we toured the property and petted the animals.

Emma Wisdom

As Emma & I are driving past the hospital yesterday she asked "What is that place called where you get your baby out."

Craftiness

I made this cute cork board for Lauren's room. The girls like to tape stuff to the door of their bedrooms, which I don't care for so much. It was a $10 project. Got the cork board at a garage sale for a $1, and $9.00 for yard of material and spray adhesive. It is far from perfect, but really cute.
